A red dress never goes out of style. It's the classic color of womanhood and, conveniently, it's seasonless. I've had this little number for a few years and have never retired it from my repertoire. The fact is, whether the ruffles are in or out, a red sheath dress is timeless and you can bet any variation is a good investment. Especially when the fit is flattering.
Last season I wore this Express dress (snagged for about $60 on sale so many moons ago) with animal print pumps and a fur-collared camel coat. This season I've made it relevant with a wide tribal-print belt (Mango), chain-link necklace (Macy's) and graphic black and white woven sandals (Stuart Weitzman). Next season, I'll probably do a wide black coat, oxblood bag, eggplant leather gloves and pointy toe pumps. When you have a classic piece, it's easy to stay chic while keeping up with trends.
How would you style your red dress? If you're stumped, let me know! I'll send styling suggestions to the first three ladies who comment with a link to their favorite red dress.
