RAW PREVIEW: MIXOLOGY

I'm excited to announce that WHS has been asked to style the host (Ms. Grace Munoz, model & owner of Mesh Events, Inc.), of tomorrow's RAW: natural born artists event, Mixology. Local shops Furor Moda, Goldie, Hex Design Co. & Sale Rack have all contributed to Grace's two looks for the evening. Here's a little bit about each of these boutiques:

Furor Moda
http://www.furormoda.com/
Why you should visit:
1. Owner, Tatiana Torres, is a fellow-lover of vintage and stocks Furor with pieces that are undeniably and timelessly chic.
2. THE JEWELRY! I couldn't believe her prices. For around $15, you can get yourself a total statement-maker.
3. Go for the boho-glam selection of new pieces, which are so obviously curated with Tatiana's signature ultra-cool, eclectic style.

Goldie
South Beach: 1570 Washington Avenue Miami Beach, Fl 33139
Coconut Grove: 3092 Fuller Street Miami, Fl 33133
Why you should visit:
1. In addition to keeping affordable and trendy fashion lines in stock, owner Leslie Ames scours sample sales to bring you designer duds at discounted prices.
2. The store has a soul. Leslie carries jewelry made by local artists, and she carries So-Me t-shirts (which benefit No More Tears, a non-profit that helps immigrant women who are victims of spousal abuse).
3. Go for the stock. I almost didn't want to share this place so I wouldn't have to compete with another shopper for the good stuff. Every time I walk in there, I spot something I "need".

Hex Design Co.
http://www.hexdesignco.com/
Why you should visit:
1. You'd be supporting a local designer: Sheryl Hidalgo is a Miami-girl!
2. Her handmade bracelets are edgy and super stylish. I especially love the gold ones she makes with hex nuts.
3. Bracelets start at $3!

Sale Rack
3444-20 Main Highway , Coconut Grove, Florida 33133
Why you should visit:
1. You can sell or trade your clothes, shoes & jewelry.
2.  Lots of great vintage handbags and jewelry. Especially the jewelry. I can never make eye-contact with the staff when I'm in there, because all I can do is look at all the pretty shinies!
3. In addition to all the crazy-affordable resale gems, the selection of designer jeans at major discounts is too good not to check out.

All of these boutiques are owned by ladies with a keen eye for trends that are also kind on your wallet. Look for more from their boutiques in our post-Mixolgy post with loads of pictures of Grace in full fab finery. In the mean time, look at all the pretty things we've been playing with!

And come and see me tomorrow evening at Mixology! RAW spotlights local artists in fashion, music, art, film, photography, performing arts, hair, and make-up. With such a diverse group of artists, Mixology is sure to be an extravangaza of awesome!
